Hailing from Oakland, this team manages to perfectly capture all that is contemporary psych in a Beach Boys meet the Beatles for acid in a fuzzed out, smoke filled, basement bar in Manhattan sort of way.

Gentle sonic textures set you adrift on an ocean of psychedelic surf just in time for almost unexpected fuzz tones to bring you to rest on the shore. There are layers here that blend a cooked shoegaze sort of vibe with 60’s garage rock. And it’s just the sort of experience you need for those intimate moments as the party winds down.

Sugar Candy Mountain have molded themselves so seamlessly after their influences that one can easily envision them on stage alongside them. Absolutely worth the listen.
